Real Flight Trainer Edition Setup
Winter is upon us and it's time to consider virtual flying. Just purchased Real Flight Trainer version at Steam so that when Summer finally arrives we will be ready to try our hand at the real thing.

AWESOME SNOW BIKE
Переглядів 1273 роки тому
The first few times riding my Fat Tire Folding E-Bike on snow was a little hazardous when the front wheel skidded sideways. When I deflated the bike's tires from the normal 65 psi to 10 psi my rides on even deep snow suddenly became more stable and consequently more enjoyable.
FAT TIRE DAYMAK FOLDING SNOW EBIKE UNBOXING AND SHAKE DOWN TEST
Переглядів 9873 роки тому
With the warm weather drawing to an end I bought myself a bike for the coming snow season. The fat 4 inch wide tires on this bike are inflated to 65 psi to minimize rolling resistance but I am planning to reduce that by quite a bit and use the bike for biking on snow packed trails this coming winter. I have since tried riding on the frozen white stuff and I have to report that it was not much f...
Phatmoto Hybrid Running Like a Top

Loving my Phatmoto Rover these days. After a rather drawn out learning period I can now say that my bike is just about perfect for my riding style. I ride for exercise and enjoyment and I am beginning to appreciate the design characteristics of this bike such as the engine speed governor (limits speed to 20 mph), 2 wheel disc brakes and high gear ratio with a large 50 tooth rear sprocket which ...

Two Stroke Smoke Trails

Since I ride alone I always wondered if at 30 to 1 mixture, does my 2 stroke motorized bike leave a trail of blue smoke. Ever since I discovered motorized bicycles I saw them as a fun set of wheels for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and the wind in their face. From the outset I realized that it would have to be a hybrid powered (pedal, electric and gas) so that it would be tolerable to ot...

Phatmoto Rover II Throttle Cable Caught by Chain
Переглядів 2413 роки тому
After a successful ride I was surprised to find that the loose end of the throttle cable had become entangled in the engine some time during the ride. Hind sight suggests that loose end should have been clipped of before the bike was ridden. Little damage was incurred as a result of the incident but it could have been much worse. No fault of the bike's design just a foolish oversight of its rid...

Phatmoto Owner Recommends: Check Your Bike Before Each Ride
Переглядів 1914 роки тому
Just finished reading a post by one our Facebook members reporting a Brake Disc screw that popped out and grounded him for a while. His advice is to check of your bike before each ride for loose nuts and bolts, something which I strongly endorse after my most recent experience. After watching this I noticed how much the front fork bounces around when the engine is pulling and how smooth it is w...
My Phatmoto Opinion : IT'S THE BIKE I ALWAYS WANTED
Переглядів 1 тис.4 роки тому
I take it all back; all the negative things that I said in my last video about the lack of performance delivered by my Phatmoto Rover II and blaming it on its EPA Compliance qualities....not.....it was because I wasn't told about "the secret golden rule of the carburetor"; OFF is really ON and its corollary ON is Choke OFF." That's where it should be when you are ready to ride.

I like the RCV engines that my brother bought. They worked fine every time he flew them. I could NOT however get over how weird they really were. My stomach felt weird when imagining that whole inner cylinder rotating WHILE the piston went up and down inside it. It seemed like SO MUCH extra wear possibilities let alone that whole rotating drive train gear set being so huge and a power suck. All my saito and OS 4 stroke engines would blow them away in an equal displacement comparison. oh and not importantly, they were so ugly…if such a thing could be with a model airplane engine. Saito = Sexy.

I bought a O&R 23 engine over 30 years ago when flying control line in Van Nuys, Ca. It is in nice condition and came with a new coil, condenser, spark plug and HT lead.I ran it once on petrol (gasoline) and oil. I can't remember the percentage of oil. I noticed that the crank was quite a loose fit in the crankcase and oil leaked out behind the prop driver. Somebody told me that it was dssigned that way. Most of my engines are diesel (compression ignition) going back to the 1940s.

Cool! I just recently built my first ebike, a 2010 Trek 3700 13" frame with a diy mid drive (2 chains...one from motor to crank...normal chain from crank to rear wheel / derailleur. I am going to add another motor to the front wheel, unsure if I want to build a hub motor or something with a derailleur and gears for the front. But...I have an old unused gas weed eater out in the shed that I have been thinking about adding the engine (can't remember CC but it looks like maybe a 39CC at a glance...it is in a dark corner) to the rear wheel...the entire left hand side of the drive is free still...it is right hand drive right now. I am thinking of mounting the small engine on the rear panier rack, down to the left drive side of the rear wheel...I will have to convert my rear wheel to have left and right hand freewheel threads or use one of those spoke attached sprockets and a freewheel on the engine. That should, if I am not getting confused, get me quite easily into a hybrid gas/electric ebike. I also am in the middle of building a bicycle camper and the gas motor would give me extra power, and still let me ride when the batteries die. I am also adding one or two 25W solar panels onto the build so I won't have to plug in very often, only before long rides.

Woah, you pull start while in motion?? That doesn't scare you that it'll catch and rip the fan apart or whip the cord back in, or worse yet it slips away from your hand and catches in the spokes or chain!?!

  • @Mr.B.B.Wolfman
    @Mr.B.B.Wolfman Рік тому

Well one, that should've been cut down to start with and a new ferrule added to it. Soothing should be able to touch the moving parts and you should take every thing that can move in any direction and pull it towards any moving parts to check this. It looks to me you ran your throttle cable along the tank and down the seat post. This would explain the extra length at the end. I ran mine opposite the rear brake line along the bottom of the frame and only have about 1.5" at the tip. Which I covered with a ferrule and a little rubber cap that usually goes over the threaded end of a bolt after the nut is in place to prevent gouging of skin.

Perhaps fine tuning your landings would be more appropriate? Go for a main gear landing, if you learning to land, it's more reproducible and safer than 3 point, don't flare too high or too steeply, Oh! Snap!
